A Fri–Sun Eating Plan Across Three Philadelphia Neighborhoods

A three-day Philadelphia eating plan, one neighborhood a day: Fishtown on Friday, Penn's Landing on Saturday, the Italian Market on Sunday. Fishtown sits about two miles north of the other two, so treat each day as its own trip rather than one continuous walk.

Pick one day or all three — each is its own neighborhood.

🍔 Friday · Burgers, then the taproom

Start at Huda Burger on Frankford Avenue, where smashburgers arrive on house-baked milk buns and the kitchen stays open until midnight on Fridays. Then walk about fifteen minutes north to the Front Street taproom at Lost Time Brewing, pouring its own lagers and hazy IPAs until 11 PM. One neighborhood, no car.

🚢 Saturday · Dinner inside a docked four-master

Moshulu, the four-masted ship permanently docked at Penn's Landing, serves Saturday from 11 AM to 10 PM, with brunch until 3 PM. Ask for a table inside when you book: the open decks run through the summer season only and also close for weather and private events, so in November the timber dining cabins are the dependable seat. Afterwards, walk about fifteen minutes north along Columbus Boulevard to Fringe Bar, which pours until 10 PM under the Ben Franklin Bridge.

🥐 Sunday · Pastries at eight, market at ten

FORÎN's South Street shop in Queen Village opens at 8 AM on Sunday and runs to 3 PM, so coffee and a house-baked pastry come first. The Italian Market Visitor Center at 919 S 9th Street does not open until 10 AM, which leaves a slow hour before the fifteen-minute walk south. Treat the center's 10 AM–3 PM as the fixed part of the morning: the stalls along Ninth Street are independent businesses on their own Sunday hours, most opening by mid-morning and a few closing early in the afternoon.

☔ Plan B

Rain or cold: stay indoors. Moshulu's dining rooms and FORÎN's counter are both inside, and the ship's open decks are summer-only anyway; drop the waterfront walk and the market stroll.

Crowds: eat at Huda before 6 PM on Friday, and book the Moshulu table in advance rather than walking in.

Tight budget: skip the second round of drinks and order à la carte, one item per stop instead of the full menu, then put the difference toward the Moshulu table.
