Watch scientists prep fossils in open labs at this campus museum blending natural history with Northwest Native art.
Description

Set on the University of Washington campus, the galleries pair preserved animal specimens, shells, and dinosaur fossils with global cultural pieces and Native lifeways. Beyond the displays, visible glass workrooms reveal staff mounting animal specimens and creating art right beside the main route. Hands-on stations invite visitors to sort bones and peer through microscopes, while the uncrowded layout keeps the walk calm and easy to navigate. On-site, the Off the Rez Cafe serves Indian tacos on frybread.
