Description

Connecting Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn Heights, the 1883 suspension bridge frames the harbor through a web of suspension cables and historic stone towers. Walking the span from the Brooklyn side toward Manhattan reveals unfolding sightlines across the water out toward the Statue of Liberty in the distance. A dedicated bicycle path runs alongside the pedestrian walkway, carrying foot and cycle traffic across the East River.
