🌴 Follow The Caribbean Menu

The restaurant at 8 Extra Place presents a refined Caribbean tasting menu shaped by Chef Paul Carmichael’s Barbadian roots. Custom mosaics and instrumental music shape a dining room where guests can watch the chef at work. The experience follows a set menu with choices and a paced sequence designed for an evening meal.

Diners can start with roti and accompaniments before moving through tender goat curry, spicy shrimp, and bass in curry. Mains arrive with prepared sides, while Caribbean-themed drinks continue the regional thread. Portions are hearty enough that leftovers may remain after the tasting menu.

Kabawa opens Tuesday through Saturday from just before 6 PM to 10 PM. Monday and Sunday are closed. The fine-dining service style and visible kitchen make the full dinner sequence part of the plan. Keep 8 Extra Place in the route and allow time for the menu to unfold at its intended pace. Nearby Manhattan restaurants include The Modern, Gramercy Tavern, Charlie Bird, Crown Shy, and Torrisi.
