🍣 Beyond the Nigiri

This Upper East Side sushi bistro pairs traditional counter service with comforting izakaya fare. Seafood and Sushi Bistro Tsubomi sits on East 66th Street, where Chef Genta applies classical Japanese techniques gained from his training at Ginza Kyubey. Guests can take a seat at the intimate counter or choose a table in the family-friendly dining room.

The kitchen prepares fresh nigiri alongside shareable small plates, offering an omakase meal at the counter during evening hours. Diners can order blistered shishito peppers, tender octopus, sliced sashimi, and crispy tempura paired with citrus yuzu ponzu. For dessert, the kitchen serves ice cream alongside red bean paste.

Lunch runs daily from half past eleven AM to 2 PM, while dinner service begins at 5 PM and wraps up at 10 PM. This mid-priced Upper East Side sushi bistro welcomes walk-ins along with planned group reservations throughout the week.
