Southern Meat and Three with Rotating Daily Sides
Eat scratch made staples at a Nashville family kitchen where collard greens and slaw deserve room on your plate.
🍽️ Scratch Made Southern Plates
Arnold's Country Kitchen gives its Southern side dishes a share of the spotlight. Collard greens and slaw sit alongside smoky ribs, with notably sweet tea to round out the meal. This is Southern cooking made from scratch, served cafeteria style.
Check the posters inside before choosing your plate. The kitchen serves a rotating selection of daily sides, and the daily lineup tells you what is available that day. Staff help you work through the choices, leaving space to change your order when something on the counter catches your attention.
Jack and Rose Arnold opened the kitchen in 1982, and their children carry it on. The family restaurant earned a James Beard American Classics Award in 2009. Find it at 605 8th Ave S, with weekday service Monday through Friday from half past ten AM to a quarter to three PM.
