🚂 Railroad History in Motion

At Los Angeles Live Steamers Railroad Museum, railroad history moves under its own power. Miniature trains carry riders around the grounds, past tiny towns and through tunnels at this Griffith Park stop. Train enthusiasts founded the museum in 1956, and members went on to build almost everything across the facility.

The organization runs entirely on volunteers and donor funding. Demonstrations cover three kinds of railroad technology, live steam, gas mechanical and electric, with equipment shown in actual operation. Public rides take place on seven and a half inch gauge equipment, and your ticket gets marked using a train emblem punch.

The museum welcomes the public on Sundays from 11 AM to 3 PM, with rides running only when weather permits. The suggested donation is 4 dollars per person for a ride. Head to 5202 Zoo Drive and keep dogs off the trains.
