Opened near Washington Square Park in 1977, the restaurant was founded by Carlo Vittorio Antonini, a Ligurian sailor and sportsman, and his wife Marisa. Inside, the space carries a rustic, old-world charm. The main dining room is notably compact, but it opens into an indoor garden patio that captures the feeling of sitting outside without the heat.
