🍝 Lasagna and Jazz on MacDougal Street

La Lanterna di Vittorio takes an Italian meal beyond its compact main dining room. At 129 MacDougal Street in Greenwich Village, an indoor garden patio brings the feeling of sitting outside into a covered courtyard. Downstairs, additional seating puts you near the live jazz, giving the restaurant another setting beyond the garden. It is also near NYU.

Lasagna flights share the menu with classic pizzas, drinks, and desserts. Start with pasta or pizza, then leave a little room for something sweet. The rustic, old world character belongs to a restaurant opened near Washington Square Park in 1977. Carlo Vittorio Antonini, a sailor and sportsman who immigrated from Liguria, founded it with his wife Marisa, who made the journey alongside him.

The restaurant opens daily at 10 AM and closes at 1 AM Sunday through Thursday and 2 AM Friday and Saturday.
