Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge

Managed as part of the Gateway National Recreation Area, this habitat encompasses saltmarshes, freshwater and brackish ponds, fields, woods, and open bay islands. The walking paths are wide, gravel-paved, and mud-free, making for a comfortable, low-key hike.
