🧀 Rustic Classics, Simply Prepared

OCabanon draws on the Southern French tradition of gathering in a cabanon, a small backyard shed, to sit down together for meals. Here in Manhattan, that gathering place takes the form of a relaxed dining room at 245 West 29th Street. There is ample indoor seating, and the cooking centers on simple preparations.

The menu moves from a cheese appetizer served with apple and jam to an endive salad with melted blue cheese. For the main course, chicken breast is marinated in thyme and rosemary and served in mushroom sauce. Burgers also appear on the menu, paired with mayonnaise made from scratch in the kitchen.

This family run French kitchen pairs its rustic classics with wines, with an in house épicerie adding another part of the experience. Doors open Monday through Friday from noon to 11 PM and Saturday from 4 PM to 11 PM, with Sunday closed.
