Lagree Fitness Studio in Studio City: Megaformer Studio City
Megaformer Studio City at 12408 Ventura Blvd runs 50-minute Lagree classes on 15 machines, with a $59 three-class intro and a $40 single class.
The San Fernando Valley branch of the Megaformer Studio sits at 12408 Ventura Blvd in Studio City, right by the corner of Whitsett Avenue. It is a small room by the company's standards, with a single classroom of 15 Megaformers, and that size shapes everything about a visit: classes fill quickly, instructors can see every carriage, and regulars know each other by name. Every session on the schedule is the 50-minute Full Body Megaformer class, the house workout of the brand Sebastien Lagree co-owns.

Why a 15-machine room changes the class
Bigger Megaformer rooms on the Westside run 18 to 32 machines, so a coach spends much of the hour walking the rows. In Studio City the room tops out at 15 carriages, which means a first-timer gets corrected on foot placement within the first few minutes instead of halfway through. The trade-off is availability. A Saturday or Sunday class with 15 spots is gone days ahead, and the waitlist button appears early in the week.
The machine itself is the reason people make the drive along Ventura. It is a sliding carriage between a front and back platform, loaded by springs underneath, with handlebars at each end and a ring the studio calls the Ring of Fire. The studio's FAQ is direct that Lagree is not Pilates: there is no rest between exercises, and moves are held slowly until the muscles shake, which the company describes as working toward second-stage muscle failure.
Who teaches in Studio City
The Studio City bench has a strong performing-arts streak. Cody toured the world in theatre and dance before teaching, and his playlists move from modern pop divas to classic hip-hop. Kareema found Lagree in 2021 alongside dance training and weightlifting, and her classes lean on hip-hop, trap, afrobeats and reggaeton. Jordan is a working actor, dancer and NASM-certified trainer who stops to explain why each move matters, which suits anyone who likes to understand the mechanics.
Other names on the October 2026 schedule include Mina, who took her first Lagree class at a Megaformer studio while on vacation from Germany and later moved to Los Angeles, and Kathy, a former soccer and volleyball player with scoliosis who talks openly about why controlled resistance suits her. Rachel, a former gymnast and college cheerleader with a health science degree from San Diego State, and Izzy, a lifelong soccer player from Orange County, round out the weekday mornings.
How the week is laid out
Monday through Thursday the schedule runs in two blocks. Mornings go hourly from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, then the room goes quiet until a 4:00 pm, 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm evening run built for people heading home over the Cahuenga Pass. Friday keeps only the morning block, finishing with the 11:00 am class. Saturday and Sunday shift later, with five classes on the hour from 8:00 am through noon.
Because the room is small, the after-work slots and the weekend 9:00 am and 10:00 am classes are the hardest to get. The midweek 10:00 am and 11:00 am sessions usually have space for freelancers and studio workers on flexible days. Bookings go through the Megaformer website or app, and you reserve a time, not an instructor, so a substitute may appear without notice.
What a first visit costs
The Studio City buy page lists two starter offers for new clients. The 3 Class Pack Intro is $59 and expires 30 days after purchase. The 2 Week Unlimited is $99 as a one-time payment, limited to one reservation per day, and it cannot be shared. Both are aimed at learning the stations before committing, and three classes in the first week is usually enough to stop feeling lost on the carriage.
After that, a single class here is $40, two dollars less than the Santa Monica and Brentwood studios. A 5 pack is $180, a 10 pack is $320 and a 20 pack is $550, and the 10 and 20 packs can be used for guests. Unlimited is $290 a month on a six-month commitment or $269 on a twelve-month term, while a month-to-month plan of four classes is $132. Grip socks sell at the desk for $11 for the black short pair or $13 for the tall pair.
Rules worth knowing before you book
New clients are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes early for a machine introduction, and the general FAQ suggests 10 to 15. Latecomers on a first visit are turned away once class has started. Returning clients should be in the room five minutes before the hour, because unclaimed machines go to people standing on the waitlist. Arriving five or more minutes late counts as a late cancellation.
Cancel at least 12 hours ahead to keep your credit. Inside that window, packs lose the class, and members on any monthly plan pay a $20 late-cancel fee or a $25 no-show fee on top. Grip socks are mandatory, bare feet and plain socks are not allowed, and phones must be silenced and put away. There are cubbies but no showers, clients must be 16 or older, and children cannot wait in the lobby while a parent takes class.
A useful trick for a sold-out class: the FAQ treats the waitlist like standby. If you are physically at the studio at start time and someone has not checked in, the spot goes to you, so a no-show can turn into a machine for whoever waited by the door.
Parking, then a walk along the river
The location page notes metered parking along Ventura Boulevard and free parking on the residential streets just behind it, which is usually the easier option before 9:00 am. Mariana Tek check-in is tied to the studio's location, so arrive close enough to tap in from your phone at the door rather than from the car around the corner.
Studio City rewards a slow walk after a shaky-legged class. Walk north up Whitsett Avenue to the Los Angeles River, where the Zev Yaroslavsky Greenway follows the river behind Weddington Golf and Tennis. It is flat, shaded in places and an easy cool-down. On Sunday mornings the Studio City Farmers Market sets up on Ventura Place, a good stop for fruit and coffee after the 8:00 am or 9:00 am class.
