Search coffee near me in Miami and the results quietly mix two businesses that have almost nothing in common. Some of those pins are cafes: a counter, a room, a person who will hand you something in a cup seven days a week. Others are roasteries, which are production facilities that happen to be findable on a map, and several of the best ones in this city keep the kind of hours a warehouse keeps rather than the kind a cafe keeps. Turning up at one of those on a Saturday with a laptop is a wasted trip, and nothing in the search result warns you.
The gap between a roastery and a room is not on the map pin, and neither is the hour the door actually shuts. Ask Karpo which of these Miami counters is open at the time you can get there, and which one is closest to where you already are.
The Roaster in Everyone's Cup That Almost Nobody Visits
Per'La Specialty Roasters is the clearest example. The company roasts to order out of 4657 SW 71st Avenue, well south of the neighbourhoods where its coffee actually gets served, and the published hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 2pm, closed Saturday and Sunday. That is a five-hour weekday window. The company asks that you call ahead if you want to collect beans or see the facility, which is the honest signal that this is a workplace with a pickup counter rather than a cafe with a roaster in the back.
It matters because Per'La shows up on every list of the best coffee in Miami, and those lists rarely mention that the weekend is not an option. If you have been meaning to go, the practical version of that plan is a weekday errand before lunch, ideally with a phone call first. Treat it as sourcing, not as a morning out.
Panther Runs Four Miami Rooms, and Two of Them Close Early
At the other end sits Panther Coffee, which has been in Wynwood since 2010 and now runs four cafes across the city, all of them open seven days a week. Two of them run long: Wynwood at 2390 NW 2nd Avenue and Coconut Grove at 3407 Main Highway both go 7am to 7pm daily. Two of them stop early: MiMo at 6407 Biscayne Boulevard and Little Haiti at 5934 NW 2nd Avenue both run 7am to 5pm daily, and both opened in 2018.
Those two hours are the whole planning problem. A late-afternoon meeting works in Wynwood and Coconut Grove and does not work on Biscayne Boulevard or in Little Haiti, where you will arrive to a locked door at ten past five. The four rooms have the same name, the same beans and the same signage, and they do not have the same clock. If you are picking one because a friend recommended Panther, ask which Panther.
Worth knowing for a different reason: the company is no longer Miami-only. It opened a Greenwich Village cafe at 482 6th Avenue in New York in 2025 and a Traverse City location at 3211 North Garfield Road in Michigan in 2026. That does not change what is in your cup here, but it does change what the name means when someone recommends it to you from out of state.
The Latest Door in the City Is Not Where You Would Guess
If your coffee plan is an evening plan, the list collapses fast. Vice City Bean runs three counters, and the one that stays open latest is not in Wynwood or Brickell: it is the Citadel location at 8300 NE 2nd Avenue, which runs 8:30am to 8pm. That is a full hour past the longest-running Panther room and three hours later than most specialty counters in Miami, and it sits inside a food hall, so the room stays busy after the coffee crowd has gone home.
The other two are daytime propositions. Edgewater at 1657 North Miami Avenue runs 7am to 6pm, and the Brickell counter inside 1111 Brickell Avenue runs 7am to 4pm, which is office scheduling rather than neighbourhood scheduling. The Brickell one closes before most people leave the building it is in. Plan around that rather than being surprised by it.
The Room That Is Still on Every List and Is Not Open
All Day, the cafe at 1035 North Miami Avenue that taught a lot of this city what a filter coffee programme looked like, shut that location in 2023. It has not reopened as a permanent room. Owners Camila Ramos and Chris MacLeod returned to the original space for a two-day pop-up on Friday 20 and Saturday 21 March 2026, which was exactly as short as it sounds.
This is the single most common wasted trip in Miami coffee, because older guides and a lot of aggregator pages still list it as an operating cafe with 8am to 3pm hours. If you see All Day recommended, check the date on the recommendation before you build a morning around it. When the team does something, it tends to be announced with days of notice rather than weeks.
The Third Category Nobody Puts in the Same List
None of the above covers the way most of Miami actually caffeinates, which is at a walk-up window attached to a Cuban cafeteria. A cortadito from a ventanita generally runs under two dollars fifty, there is no seating, no wifi and no queue system beyond standing there, and the transaction takes ninety seconds. It is a different product at a different price on a different clock, and the useful thing to understand is that it is not competing with the counters above. Locals use both, on different days, for different reasons.
The practical consequence: if what you want is an hour at a table, use the specialty rooms and check the closing time first. If what you want is caffeine in the next two minutes on your way somewhere, the window is faster, cheaper and open earlier than any of them.
