They run parallel, roughly a mile apart, on either side of the rail corridor that splits this part of Miami north to south, and the walk between them is a genuine fifteen to twenty minutes in September heat with no shade worth mentioning. Pick the wrong Second Avenue and your morning is a hike, not a crawl.

NW 2nd Avenue: The Specialty Side
The anchor on the western avenue is Panther Coffee's Little Haiti room at 5934 NW 2nd Avenue, which opened in 2018 and runs 7am to 5pm every day. It is the largest and quietest of the company's four Miami cafes, with a long communal table and a roasting operation attached, and it is the one people who work from cafes gravitate to precisely because it does not fill up the way Wynwood does at eleven on a Saturday.
Note the closing time, because it is the earlier of Panther's two schedules. Wynwood and Coconut Grove run until 7pm; this room and the MiMo one stop at 5pm. If your plan involves sitting somewhere past five, this is not the room, and there is no equivalent replacement within walking distance on this side of the tracks.
The geography is worth naming honestly: this stretch of NW 2nd Avenue reads as the western edge of the neighbourhood, closer in feel to Buena Vista and the northern end of Wynwood than to the Haitian commercial blocks. That is not a criticism of the coffee. It is a reason not to assume that starting here means you have seen Little Haiti.
NE 2nd Avenue: The Corridor the Neighbourhood Is Named For
Cross east and the character changes completely. NE 2nd Avenue is the working commercial spine of Haitian Miami, and the civic anchor sits at the Little Haiti Cultural Complex, 212 NE 59th Terrace, open Monday to Friday 10am to 9pm and Saturday 10am to 5pm, closed Sundays. That Monday-to-Friday 9pm closing time is unusual for a public building in Miami and makes the courtyard a genuine evening destination rather than a daytime-only one.
Tigeorges Kafe sits on the Cultural Complex block at 5925 NE 2nd Avenue and is the reason to be on this avenue at all if coffee is the point. It is built around Haitian coffee specifically rather than the third-wave single-origin idea, which is a different tradition with a different roast profile and a different way of serving it. Listed hours are Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm. Call before you commit to it as the centre of a plan, because small independent hours on this corridor move around more than published listings suggest.
The 10am opening is the scheduling detail that matters most for a crawl. The specialty side opens at 7am and the corridor side does not really start until mid-morning, so the sensible direction of travel is west to east: coffee at Panther early, walk across, arrive on NE 2nd Avenue when things are actually open. Doing it in reverse means standing outside shut doors at half past eight.
Keep Going North and the Third Option Appears
Follow NE 2nd Avenue north and it runs into Little River, where the Citadel food hall at 8300 NE 2nd Avenue houses a Vice City Bean counter running 8:30am to 8pm. That is the latest specialty coffee closing time in this part of the city by a wide margin, and it is the only address in this write-up where a 6pm coffee is a realistic proposition.
It is about two miles north of the Cultural Complex, which is a drive or a short ride rather than a continuation of the walk. Treat it as the end point rather than a stop: crawl the two avenues on foot, then move north when the corridor starts closing at six.
The Third Friday Changes the Whole Plan
If your visit lands on the third Friday of the month, reorganise around it. Big Night in Little Haiti runs 6pm to 10pm in the Cultural Complex courtyard, produced by the Rhythm Foundation with the Little Haiti Cultural Center, and it is free. It is a monthly music night built around Haitian artists, held outdoors in the courtyard of the same building that is open until 9pm on weekdays anyway.
A free monthly event in a courtyard is worth more planning weight than any single cup of coffee, and it inverts the schedule: on a third Friday, do the coffee in the afternoon and stay for the evening rather than treating the neighbourhood as a morning errand.
What Else Is on the Corridor While You Walk
NE 2nd Avenue is not only coffee. Fiorito has been at 5555 NE 2nd Avenue since 2012, cooking Argentine food on a corridor better known for Haitian and Caribbean kitchens, which tells you something true about how mixed this stretch actually is. Between the Cultural Complex and the Little River end you will pass bakeries, botanicas and record shops, most of them small operations that keep their own hours and several of which are cash-friendly rather than card-first.
Carry some cash, and do not assume a posted hour on an aggregator page is current. On a corridor of independent businesses the phone number is a more reliable source than the map pin, and a two-minute call before you walk twenty minutes is the whole difference between a good morning and a shut door.
