Tamil Nadu Dining Brings Lamb Sukka Dumplings to Williamsburg
Dine on seasonal New York produce shaped by Chennai roots at Mythily, with interiors inspired by a South Indian village.
🍽️ Chennai Roots, Brooklyn Produce
Mythily brings Chennai roots to Havemeyer Street through chef and founder Rasika Venkatesa, a Top Chef alum, and a kitchen working with seasonal New York produce. Named for her grandmother, the Williamsburg restaurant draws on techniques gathered across Tamil Nadu. Start with lamb sukka dumplings, then consider cured scallops under panakam granita or tilefish with Nagapattinam manga curry.
The room has 45 seats and takes its design inspiration from a South Indian village. Deep green walls, warm neutrals and Moroccan clay plaster carry that reference into the interiors. Private events are another part of the restaurant offering. Filter coffee soft serve takes the menu through dessert, with low alcohol cocktails among the drinks.
You can walk in at 129 Havemeyer St in Brooklyn. Service runs Wednesday through Saturday from 5 PM to 10 PM and Sunday from 4 PM to 9 PM.
