SoHo Giving Tuesday: Evening Kitchen Shift & Lombardi's

Book the regular 4–7 PM kitchen shift on Giving Tuesday — tasks vary between kitchen prep, meal packaging, and bakery support depending on daily needs (bakery spots fill fast and cannot be guaranteed). Report to the Michael Kors Building at 166 Avenue of the Americas (directly above the Spring Street C and E subway station) 15 minutes before your shift. Advance registration on VolunteerHub is required; walk-ins are not permitted. Dress code requires shirts with sleeves (shoulders and knees must be covered), closed-toe non-slip shoes, hair tied back with a hairnet, and no watches or jewelry. Keep phones put away during work. Volunteers aged 13 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Plan B: If Tuesday is full, check VolunteerHub for Sunday shifts (10 AM–1 PM or 1:30–4:30 PM) or the Sunset Park meal fulfillment center.

Walk east along Spring Street for fifteen minutes across SoHo into Nolita to reach an iconic New York coal-fired pizzeria. The kitchen turns out crispy coal-fired Margherita pies blistered in a vintage anthracite oven. Grab a booth beneath historic photos, order a whole pie to share, and relax with drinks. The dining room is cash only, with an in-house ATM available—bring cash before you go.

Both stops run along Spring Street, connecting a 3-hour evening volunteer shift at God's Love We Deliver with historic coal-fired pizza. Volunteering is free; pizza ranges around $25–$45 per pie depending on toppings. Plan B: If your preferred evening is fully booked, reserve Sunday volunteer slots or the Sunset Park distribution center.
