Skyline Sunsets From A City Island Sailing Deck

Moored sailboats, a rocking-chair porch, and skyline sunsets line City Island's working shoreline in the Bronx.

⛵ Along the moorings

City Island Yacht Club sits at the end of Pilot Street on the Bronx's City Island, a low clubhouse where sailboats swing at their moorings just past the deck. Wooden rocking chairs line a covered porch that looks out across the bay, and the Manhattan skyline thins to a silhouette as the sun drops. Members drift in after a day on the water for a skillet dessert and a drink at dusk, trading notes on tides and rigging. The shoreline stays working and unhurried, a boatyard calm a world away from the rest of the Bronx.
