There is a neighborhood story here, too. Before the 1997 renaming, the space was known as P.S. 145 Playground. Its new name honors the history of the surrounding neighborhood. A 2018 overhaul through the Community Parks Initiative refreshed the layout with paths, benches, and plantings, and that redesign is what makes the site work for every ability.
