Anibal Aviles Playground at 111 West 108th Street honors a local resident who lived on nearby West 109th Street and captained the basketball and track teams at J.H.S. 54. He later enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps and was killed in action during the Vietnam War in 1966. Outdoor play areas, spray showers, and public restrooms are available on the grounds.
