André Ampère's Queens Playground

At 97-16 83rd Street, the grounds pair outdoor recreation with a scientific namesake. The site honors a French physicist associated with electromagnetic theory. Isaac Leopold Rice donated the land to New York City. Soccer fields create room for team play, while spray showers add water-based recreation. Public restrooms provide a practical stop for families. Entry is free and the grounds are open daily from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
