Canal Corner, New Footprint
Albert Capsouto Park sits at 68 Varick Street where Canal, Varick, and Laight streets meet. Chess tables, planting, and a 114-foot sculptural fountain fill the triangular plaza. Its design followed the replacement of a parking lot in 2009 through Lower Manhattan Development Corporation revitalization funding. Daily hours run from 7:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with free entry listed.
