Running along the river's east bank, the road was formerly East River Drive before being renamed for Olympic sculling champion John B. Kelly Jr. Beyond Boathouse Row, the stretch is famous for its rowing regattas and family-friendly park space. Its multi-use trail accommodates walking, running, cycling, and e-bike rides across all four seasons, lined with cherry blossoms in spring.
