Description

Founded in 1974, the interior is lined with Haitian folk art and paintings. Rather than an over-the-top spectacle, the signature dry curry delivers a comforting, well-seasoned meal. The accompanying coffee uses beans roasted over Wakayama binchotan charcoal. Operating as a one-woman show, the shop moves at a steady pace, where catching the owner between orders often comes with stories from its long history underground.
