Hermon A. MacNeil Park

Named for an early 20th-century sculptor, this peninsula park sits on the site of the former Chisholm estate, where a flagpole now marks the spot of the original stone mansion. Despite its compact footprint, it packs in a dense mix of green space, a meadow, and a paved woods trail. Visitors can spot boats on the East River and the Whitestone Bridge in the distance. The grounds feature basketball and handball courts, a ball field, and a busy playground, while fishermen gather along the esplanade. There is also a kayak launch for those looking to get onto the water.
