A West Loop Breather

Basketball courts and baseball fields give Union Park an active focus. Children can head for the playground, while lawns offer a place for a picnic. The grounds can accommodate concerts on one side and quiet downtime on the other. Indoors, the fieldhouse has a theater stage. A separate building houses a gymnasium and fitness center. The park sits by the Ashland transit stop. Daily hours run from 6:00 AM to 11:00 PM.

Curiosity Meets Movement

Garfield Park Conservatory and Union Park give a Chicago weekend with children two different rhythms. Fish in the conservatory's water features and plants across its glasshouses invite close observation. At Union Park, courts, fields and a playground provide space for active play, while lawns accommodate picnics and quiet downtime. The connection is a balance of attention and activity. Both places extend beyond a single setting, the conservatory includes outdoor gardens, and the park has indoor facilities alongside its open grounds.
