Explore Over 150 Sculptures in a 1929 Museum
Sketch unfinished figures, then wander the gardens at this compact Philadelphia collection.
✏️ A Closer Look
Rodin Museum puts more than 150 sculptures within a setting from 1929 on Benjamin Franklin Parkway. Cinema magnate Jules Mastbaum assembled the collection in the 1920s, and French architects Paul Phillippe Cret and Jacques Gréber designed its home. The full collection takes about an hour to explore, a manageable stretch of time for an afternoon devoted to one artist.
Move between the indoor galleries and gardens with tables and a fountain. Sketchbooks invite you to draw in the moment, giving the intentionally unfinished figures another kind of attention. Choose one to study, take your time with its form, then step outside to continue looking among the grounds.
The museum opens from 10 AM to 5 PM on Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with a closure from January 4 to February 27. Admission is covered by a Philadelphia Museum of Art ticket.
