David Zwirner keeps several buildings across West 19th and West 20th, and the Chelsea rooms are open and minimal with bright lighting built for a rotating line up of contemporary names. Admission is free. Recent visitors singled out Michael Armitage's Crucible and the Jasper Johns show upstairs. Doors run from ten to six, Tuesday through Saturday, and close on Sunday and Monday. Start on the ground floor, ask the desk what is hanging upstairs, and walk the block to the next address. An hour covers two buildings at an unhurried pace. Leave the wall text for a return trip.
