Creative Chinese Banquet Plates in a Former Opera House
Dinner pairs reimagined dishes with cocktails and a downstairs speakeasy in Chinatown.
🥢 Reworked Banquet Classics
Start at 5 Doyers Street, where a restored hall tied to the first Chinese opera house in New York now holds dinner and drinks. The menu stays rooted in reimagined traditional banquet dishes, with braised black pepper oxtail buns, hakashi crudo, and a burrata and cruller appetizer in the mix. Chinese and American craft beers round out the table.
Downstairs, the speakeasy turn gives the night another room, while the dining room keeps the larger story in play with original pillars, stripped down walls, mid century touches, and a lush jungle like atmosphere. Family style dining fits the menu, especially when the table wants to share.
Monday through Thursday dinner runs from 5 PM to 11 PM, and Friday stretches until midnight. Saturday and Sunday add lunch from noon to 3 PM before dinner returns at 5 PM, with Saturday dinner running until midnight and Sunday wrapping at 11 PM.
