Coney Island Aquarium Goes Free at 3 p.m. Every Wednesday

Free entry starts at 3 p.m. every Wednesday, but the doors stop taking people at 3:30 and the park closes at 4:30.

Reserve the free Wednesday slot.

🦈 The Cheapest Way In

The aquarium drops to winter hours on Nov 1 and holds them through Mar 25. Doors open at 10 a.m., the last entry is 3:30 p.m., and it closes at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday afternoons are free from 3 p.m. to that last entry. That leaves 30 minutes to get through the door, and 90 inside if you arrive at 3.

The tickets are free and required. They appear every Monday at 3 p.m., four per order. Do not turn up without a ticket. A regular adult ticket runs 29.95 dollars off peak and 32.95 dollars in season, which makes Wednesday the cheapest way into the aquarium.

Three exhibits carry that window. Ocean Wonders Sharks lines sand tiger sharks up against the glass at Canyon's Edge, Sea Cliffs keeps the sea otters outdoors, and Spineless covers octopus, moon jellies and cuttlefish. The 4-D theater costs extra on a Wednesday ticket, while full price admission includes one show.

Take the F or Q to West 8th Street, the station named for the aquarium, and walk a block to 602 Surf Avenue.
