🗺️ Poe Park to Arthur Avenue

🕯️ Stop 1 · Edgar Allan Poe Cottage

The cottage is smaller than most people picture, a white farmhouse with a narrow porch at the edge of a Bronx park, where Poe spent his final years writing Annabel Lee and The Bells. On Saturday, October 24, Nevermore hosts rare evening tours of the historic rooms from 4:00 to 6:00 PM. At 5:00 PM the Visitor Center next door opens a gothic night market of themed cocktails, sweets and dark verse, followed by author readings and live music by Militia Vox starting at 6:00 PM.

Entry is free, but space is limited, so registration is required. Market drinks, treats, and books are sold separately.

🍷 Stop 2 · Frankie's Restaurant

After an evening immersed in gothic verse and music, Arthur Avenue offers a lively, warm contrast. Frankie's sits at 2376, right in the heart of Belmont's Little Italy, where red-sauce pastas and baked Italian classics anchor the menu. The kitchen features favorites like baked ziti, chicken parmigiana, penne alla vodka, and house-simmered sauces, alongside traditional espresso desserts.

Frankie's closes at 10:00 PM daily. Saturday tables on Arthur Avenue fill quickly, so reserve ahead through OpenTable or by phone.

🚶 From a poet's porch to supper

The two stops sit roughly a mile apart heading east toward Belmont. You can walk or catch the local Bx12 bus on Fordham Road, but check live navigation for actual walking distance, bus arrivals, and transfer times. The Nevermore salon lists no set finish time, so treat dinner as an optional plan after the full readings and music wrap up. Keep in mind that Frankie's closes at 10:00 PM daily, so plan your arrival accordingly.
