Edgar Allan Poe Cottage

Rented by the writer in 1846, this structure dating back to around 1812 houses exhibits detailing his life and work. While much of the interior consists of general historical reconstructions, it features a rocking chair and mirror said to be original to Poe's time here. The space is distinctly compact, reflecting his stark living conditions while he composed late masterpieces like "The Bells," "Ulalume," and "El Dorado."
