eyecandy teaches pole on the ground floor of the Hosono Building at 2-1-13 Soto-Kanda, Chiyoda-ku, on the Akihabara side of Kanda, and its booking site lists monthly plans from ¥7,400 for two classes, tax included. The phone number is 03-3525-4890, and the reception desk is staffed from noon to 4pm. For a pole fitness near me search around Akihabara, this is the studio that has been running for close to two decades, with short 30-minute trial classes several times a week.

From New York to Soto-Kanda
The studio's founder and lead dancer goes by YOSSY. According to a November 2025 press release from the operating company, Eyecandy Co., Ltd., YOSSY trained in dance in New York and opened eyecandy in 2007, calling it Japan's first studio dedicated to pole. The homepage now describes it as a pole studio that has lasted twenty years.
The same release says the school has more than ten instructors, and that YOSSY set off in October 2025 on a round-the-world performance tour themed on kimono and dance, funded through a crowdfunding campaign that reached its target. The idea was to perform Japanese-styled aerial work abroad and bring new show ideas back to the Akihabara studio.
What a Week of Classes Looks Like
The timetable on the booking site is packed. Trials are 30-minute sessions, taught by YOSSY or Diana on the week we looked, and you can follow one directly with a 60-minute Basic or Beginner class. Beginner pole also runs in 80-minute versions, and the Intermediate level takes over late in the evening, with classes starting as late as 9:10pm.
Aerial work gets its own slots. Kozue teaches Aerial Hoop at all levels and an introductory hammock dance class, and there are beginner silks classes, including a 9:10pm Aerial Silk Basic. Heels fans can choose between Heel Choreo Basic and a Heel Slow Flow class, and the Trick Request sessions are open to men and women together.
Picking a Plan That Fits
New members can choose a full-time plan at ¥28,000 a month, which allows up to 25 classes. Cheaper plans are tied to time slots: the Day plan, for weekday classes before 6pm, is ¥21,000. The Night plan, for weekday classes after 6pm, and the Weekend plan, capped at ten classes, are ¥19,000 each.
If you only want to come a few times a month, the Four-Class plan is ¥14,500, the Six-Class plan ¥21,000 and the Two-Class plan ¥7,400. Since September 2025, unused tickets on the four- and six-class plans carry over for up to three months, but they disappear if you cancel the plan. There is also a sign-up package that bundles membership with three classes, valid for two months.
Joining, Paying and the Fine Print
Everyone books through the studio's hacomono site, and you need a web account even for a trial. Registering alone makes you a visitor, and you only get member rates after formally joining. The full joining fee is ¥10,000. Former members who have not moved to the new system since it launched in August 2025 pay a ¥3,000 re-registration fee instead, using a coupon code.
Monthly fees are charged on the 20th by card, or collected on the 27th by bank transfer, with cash also accepted. The studio's legal notice says that, given the nature of the service, it does not accept returns or refunds. Our advice: start with a trial, then the sign-up package, before committing to a full-time plan.
Early Mornings and Share Rental
eyecandy also rents out its space, from 7am to 11pm, under a separate booking for rentals and shared rentals. A popular option is the monthly morning share rental, which lets dancers practise before work. It has become so crowded that from October 2026 it is capped at 12 bookings a month for ¥6,000.
If you need more mornings than that, you can add a single morning share ticket for ¥1,000 each time. The studio says it introduced the limit because some members could not get a slot, so book well ahead if you are planning to train early in the week.
Stages, Streams and Training Teachers
Performing is a big part of the culture. The homepage promises everything from full productions in proper theatres to casual studio showcases, with some shows streamed live on YouTube. Students who want to go further can join the instructor-training course, called Pole is Life, which can also be studied entirely online.
The site also points students to poles they can install at home, which helps if you want to practise between classes. English-language classes are on the schedule, which makes eyecandy one of the easier pole studios in Tokyo for visitors who do not speak Japanese.
Who Fills the Room
The studio pitches itself at adults who think they are too unfit, too old or too inexperienced for dance, and says it has spent nearly twenty years helping women in exactly that position. Classes are small, with several instructors and levels running across the week rather than one large group.
Expect office workers in the late slots, morning regulars who use the share rental, and aerial students who hang a hoop or silks next to the poles. If you only want hoop or silks, book the aerial trial, a 30-minute session at 5:15pm in the week we looked, rather than a pole trial.
Around Akihabara Before or After
Soto-Kanda is the district that holds Akihabara's electronics and anime shops, and the area is busiest from late morning, when stores open. An evening class means walking past the neon of Chuo-dori on the way, while a morning session finds the streets quiet and shuttered.
Kanda Myojin shrine is in Soto-Kanda too, and makes a calm stop before a class. If eyecandy's beginner slots are full, Pole Dance Tokyo in Akasaka runs beginner-level classes and is a direct Ginza Line ride from Suehirocho.
