Monday through Wednesday the room runs from seven in the morning until four the following morning. Thursday it pushes to half past five. Friday and Saturday it does not close at all — twenty-four hours, both days. Sunday it opens at half past five in the morning and runs to four.
Read that carefully, because it is not a normal fast-food pattern. From Friday morning through to Sunday morning, this address is continuously open. In a downtown that historically shuts hard at two, a room that simply does not stop for two consecutive nights is a structural change rather than a convenience.
A full bar, not just a licence
The downtown Cantina runs beers on tap and spirits including tequila and whiskey, which can be used to spike the frozen drinks. That is a step beyond the beer-and-wine format some Cantina locations operate, and it is the reason this room gets described as having a full bar rather than simply serving alcohol.
The fit-out is themed around Los Angeles specifically rather than being a generic Cantina interior, which makes it a more deliberate piece of design than the format usually gets. Whether that lands for you is a matter of taste; what is not in question is that it is a considerably more pleasant room to spend an hour in than a standard branch.
Where it sits, and who it serves
Seventh Street at Flower is in the middle of the Financial District, close to the Seventh Street/Metro Center station, and within walking distance of the Crypto.com Arena and LA Live to the south. That is a very specific catchment: office workers by day, event crowds in the evening, and residents of the surrounding converted towers overnight.
Each of those groups uses the room differently, which is why the hours are shaped the way they are. The seven in the morning open serves the commute; the evening serves the arena; the small hours serve people who live downtown and have discovered that almost nothing else is available to them.
After an event at the arena
Events at the arena and LA Live release large crowds onto a small number of streets, and the immediate options fill instantly. Walking north on Figueroa to Seventh puts distance between you and the crush, and the Cantina absorbs volume in a way that a table-service room cannot.
It is a ten to fifteen minute walk depending on where you exit, which is long enough that most of the crowd will not make it and short enough to be worth doing. That combination is exactly what you want after an event — somewhere near enough to reach and far enough that everyone else went somewhere closer.
Getting there and getting out
Seventh Street/Metro Center is the interchange for the Metro A, B, D and E lines, and it is essentially at the door. That makes this one of the most transit-accessible addresses in the city, which matters a great deal if the full bar is part of your plan.
The caveat is that Metro does not run twenty-four hours even though this room does. On a Friday night the trains stop long before the Cantina does, so the last few hours of that all-night stretch are rideshare or walking territory. Know your last train time before you settle in.
The seven in the morning open, and who uses it
Downtown breakfast is thin outside the coffee shops, and a hot breakfast at seven within a minute of a four-line Metro interchange is a genuinely practical option for anyone commuting in. It is also considerably cheaper than the café options in the surrounding towers, which are priced for expense accounts rather than for people paying their own way.
The Sunday half past five open is the outlier and it has a specific audience: people coming off overnight shifts, and people who have simply not been to bed. On a Sunday morning that room is one of the quieter places downtown, which is an odd thing to be able to say about a Taco Bell, and it is true.
What to expect from the room
It is bright, it is busy at peak, and at four in the morning it is one of the stranger rooms in Los Angeles — a mix of people finishing shifts, people finishing nights, and downtown residents treating it as a late kitchen. The staff working those hours are unbothered by all of it.
Order through the app if you are arriving with a crowd. The counter and the bar run separately, and the pickup flow moves considerably faster than the queue when the room fills after an event or at closing time for the bars on Spring Street.
