This is the practical thing to know. The Market Street location runs ten in the morning to half past nine. The Mission Street one runs half past ten to ten, later at weekends. Chestnut Street goes to eleven most nights and half past eleven on Friday and Saturday. The California Street shop runs to ten or half past.
And one of them — the location at 98 Mission Street — is closed on Sunday entirely and keeps office-district hours the rest of the week. There is no house schedule to rely on, which means checking the specific store before you set off is not optional.
Which one to use
Chestnut Street in the Marina is the latest-running of the main locations and the one that works for a genuine evening. Mission Street and Market Street downtown serve the office and shopping crowd. The Irving Street shop covers the Inner Sunset, and California Street serves Laurel Heights.
The rule is simply to go to the nearest one and check its hours rather than having a favourite. The food is consistent across them, and the differences that matter are entirely about location and closing time.

Measured that way the chain is good value, and measured against a drive-thru it is not — which is why it occupies the position it does rather than competing at either end.
Ordering and timing
Counter service with table numbers, and the food is cooked to order rather than held, so there is a real wait of several minutes at every location. At peak that becomes ten or fifteen, which is worth knowing if you are on a schedule.
Ordering ahead through the app or online works and is the sensible approach at lunchtime downtown, where the Market Street and Mission Street shops absorb the office rush in a narrow window. Off-peak, walking in is fine and the wait is part of the food being made properly.
