Edgewater Pottery Painting: $10 Fee and Half-Off Fridays
Color Me Mine at 2001 Biscayne Blvd takes walk-ins only, charges $10 per painter, and halves that fee on Fridays from 8 to 10 pm. Garage parking is free.
Color Me Mine Edgewater Miami, at 2001 Biscayne Boulevard, Suite 113, is a walk-in-only pottery painting studio that charges a $10 studio fee per painter and gives you no time limit once you sit down. Pieces start at $25, parking in the garage on 19th Street is free, and on Fridays from 8 to 10 pm the studio fee drops by half and BYOB is encouraged. The studio describes its spot as near Downtown Miami, Wynwood, Midtown and Brickell, which makes it an easy add-on to almost any Miami evening.

What You Pay: A $10 Fee and Pieces From $25
The studio's visit page spells out the pricing in two lines. There is a studio fee of $10 for each person painting, and all pottery is priced separately. Pieces range from $25 and up, with many options in the $25 to $35 range, so a first mug or small bowl plus the fee comes to roughly $35 to $45 before tax. The fee covers the paint, the glazing and the firing, and you can use as many colors and as much paint as you like, since the studio says there is no limit on either.
Choice is the second selling point. The studio says you can choose from hundreds of ceramic pieces, and every piece is lead free and food safe once it has been glazed and fired. Skilled employees help you paint, which matters if you have not touched a brush since school. The usual advice for first-timers holds here too: pick something with a flat surface, like a plate or tile, if you want your colors to look clean, and save the figurines for a second visit.
Group size changes the bill. Walk-in groups of 8 or more people have a 15% gratuity added automatically at checkout. A reserved large-group table costs $10 per person, includes all painting supplies, glazing and firing, requires at least 8 painters, and is held for 15 minutes past the reservation time. For anything smaller than eight, nobody needs a reservation at all.
Walk-Ins Only, and What Happens When It Is Full
The studio's How It Works page is unambiguous: no reservations are needed or taken for regular painting, every day of the week, and reservations exist only for parties of 8 or more. The Walk In Studio page adds the detail that matters on a busy Saturday. If the studio is full when you arrive, you hop on the waitlist and get seated quickly, and once you have a spot there is no time limit. Stay, relax and paint for as long as you like.
That no-clock policy is the real difference from studios that sell 90-minute tables. A detailed plate can take two hours and nobody hurries you out. The trade-off is that you cannot lock in a table, so the smart moves are to arrive early in the day or on a weekday evening. Mondays through Wednesdays run 10 am to 8 pm, which gives you long stretches when the room is easy to get into.
Sunday is the day to watch. The studio opens at noon and closes at 6 pm, the shortest day on the schedule, so a late-afternoon Sunday walk-in has very little runway. If you want to paint on a Sunday, go right at noon.
Friday After Dark, Mini Mondays and Other Deals
The calendar page is where the studio's personality shows up. Fridays After Dark runs 8 pm to 10 pm with half-off studio fees, BYOB encouraged, and bringing your own bottle also gets groups of up to four painters the half-off fee. A separate Sips and Ceramics listing runs 7 pm to 9 pm and offers free studio fees for groups of up to four painters who bring a bottle. It is a rare studio that makes the drinks policy this clear, and it turns a $10 fee into a $5 one on the busiest night of the week.
Mini Mondays waive the studio fee for kids 10 and under, though you have to mention it at checkout to get the discount. Workshop Wednesdays brings a new guided creative workshop on the second Wednesday of the month from 7 pm to 9 pm, and advance registration is required for those. For birthdays and showers, the Shared Studio Party Package costs a $100 base fee for up to 20 people, covers studio fees for up to 10 painters, and includes a 2-hour reservation with a party host.
A fair caution on the party package is that parties require at least 8 painters, a 15% gratuity is added for the host, and coupons and promotions cannot be applied. For two or three friends, the Friday walk-in deal is the better value.
Parking, Hours and Getting There
Parking is the quiet advantage of this studio. The studio offers free covered parking in the garage right inside its building on 19th Street, with no meters, and the website points drivers to the garage east on 19th Street and Biscayne Boulevard. In a part of Miami where street parking disappears at dinnertime, that matters more than the glaze count.
The posted hours are Sunday 12 pm to 6 pm, Monday 10 am to 8 pm, Tuesday 10 am to 8 pm, Wednesday 10 am to 8 pm, Thursday 10 am to 9 pm, Friday 10 am to 10 pm and Saturday 10 am to 8 pm. Friday is the longest day, and it is the one with the half-off fee at the end, so a late dinner nearby followed by an 8 pm painting session works well.
Your piece is glazed, fired and ready for pickup within 5 to 7 days, and the studio asks you to leave it behind rather than take it home wet. For party orders the wait stretches to about 10 days.
Who This Studio Suits, and Who Should Skip It
The honest read is that this is a date-night, friends-night and families-with-small-kids studio. The site names families, kids, date nights, friends, birthday parties and groups as its crowd. It suits anyone who dislikes booking in advance, because a no-reservation policy removes the planning step. It is a weaker fit for a precise-timing event such as a corporate team-building hour, where you want a guaranteed table, unless you reach for the large-group reservation.
If the studio is full and the waitlist feels long, the sensible plan B is to swing through Edgewater for dinner and come back, since the studio says it will seat you quickly from the waitlist. Another option is to return on a Monday morning, when the studio opens at 10 am and kids 10 and under paint with the fee waived.
Making an Evening Around It
Edgewater sits on the Biscayne Bay side of the city, and the studio's own description places it near Downtown, Wynwood, Midtown and Brickell. A relaxed way to use the neighborhood is to paint first, then walk toward the waterfront parks along the bay for sunset, since your piece will be in the kiln anyway. Margaret Pace Park is the waterfront green space on the bay, and it makes an easy stretch of the legs between painting and dinner.
Because the ceramic needs 5 to 7 days in the kiln, treat the visit as a two-trip plan. Paint on a Friday night, and pick up the finished mug the following week when you are passing through the neighborhood anyway.
