Your ticket is your Muni pass
Chase Center built its entire access plan around public transit, and the payoff is simple: your game ticket works as a free all-day Muni pass. Physical or digital, it covers you on buses, light rail, and the Central Subway from the moment you wake up until the system stops running. Show it at fare gates, hand it to the bus driver, or present it if a Transit Fare Inspector boards your train. Cable cars are the only exclusion.
The S Shuttle Mission Bay is the dedicated event service. It runs approximately every 10 minutes between Chinatown-Rose Pak Station and UCSF/Chase Center, hitting Union Square/Market Street Station in between. The shuttle starts 2.5 hours before tip and continues until crowds clear. Regular T Third service also stops at UCSF/Chase Center on its normal schedule, so you have two light-rail options on the same platform.
If you're coming from the East Bay or Peninsula, take BART to Powell Station, follow signs upstairs to the Muni platform, exit the BART fare gates, and look for the T symbol. You'll transfer underground at Union Square/Market Street Station. Screens above the platform show which train arrives next—either an S Shuttle or a T Third heading toward Sunnydale works. The ride from Union Square to Chase Center takes about 12 minutes. Riders transferring at 16th St Mission BART can catch the 78X express bus, which runs only on event days and stops on 16th Street near Illinois Street. That express service begins 2.5 hours before the event and ends one hour after.
Parking costs more, fills faster, and closes streets
On-site parking at 1 Warriors Way is extremely limited and typically reserved or sold out. The arena's official lots are Lot C at 1144 3rd Street, the garage at 1800 Owens Street, and Lot 118 at 901 Illinois Street. You can buy passes in advance through the Warriors + Chase Center mobile app or pay on-site if space remains, but most game nights sell out hours ahead. Limited ADA parking is available for purchase at 150 Warriors Way.
Street meters within a half-mile of Chase Center switch to special event rates during games and concerts with more than 10,000 attendees. The rate jumps to eight dollars per hour, and the boundaries stretch across South Beach and Mission Bay. The zone includes metered blocks along 3rd Street, Terry Francois Boulevard, and the grid east of the ballpark. The SFMTA uses these rates to discourage circling and free up curb space for residents and businesses, so budget accordingly if you're set on driving.
Two hours before each event until one hour after, the city closes portions of 16th Street between 3rd Street and Terry Francois Boulevard, Warriors Way between the same two points, and northbound Illinois Street between Mariposa and 16th for local access only. Ride-share drop-off moves depending on which streets are closed, so confirm your driver's pickup zone in the app before you leave the arena. Traffic leaving Mission Bay funnels onto 3rd Street and Mariposa, and both routes clog within minutes of the final buzzer.
Spark Social SF runs food trucks a five-minute walk away
Spark Social SF is an outdoor food truck park on Mission Bay Boulevard at 3rd Street, about four blocks north of Chase Center. It rotates trucks from a pool of more than 200 Bay Area operators, so the lineup changes weekly. On any given night you might find Filipino BBQ, Korean fried chicken, Nashville hot chicken, wood-fired pizza, or acai bowls parked in the same lot. The park also has a permanent bar and cafe, a converted double-decker school bus for seating, four fire pits, and lawn games.
The space opens Monday through Thursday from 11 AM to 3 PM and 5 PM to 9 PM, Friday from 11 AM to 3 PM and 4 PM to 9 PM, Saturday from 11 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday from 11 AM to 5 PM. Game nights pull the UCSF and biotech office crowd plus fans walking over from the arena, so the fire-pit seating and bus tables fill by 5 PM on weeknights and 4 PM on weekends. Most trucks charge ten to eighteen dollars per item and accept cards and cash. Dogs are welcome, and there's no entry fee.
Mission Bay is newer construction without many walkable gathering spots, so Spark Social serves as the neighborhood's de facto commons. Covered seating is limited—bring a layer if fog rolls in after sunset. Check the park's Instagram (@sparksocialsf) for the current truck schedule before you go, because not every operator shows up every day. The T Third Muni stop at UCSF/Chase Center is a five-minute walk south; street parking along Mission Bay Boulevard and the side streets fills on game nights but turns over faster than spots near the arena.
Doors open early, so arrive early
Chase Center opens its doors 90 minutes before weeknight tip times and two hours before weekend games. Tipoff is typically 7 PM on weeknights and 5:30 PM on weekends, which means doors at 5:30 PM and 4 PM respectively. The arena requires contactless mobile ticketing—you'll scan your phone at the entrance, so have the Warriors + Chase Center app or your ticket email ready before you reach the gate.
If you arrive with time to spare, walk the Esplanade along Terry Francois Boulevard at 16th Street and look for Olafur Eliasson's Seeing spheres installation near the East Entrance. New menu items this season include Lecon Kawali from Sarap Shop, a chicken sandwich from Sadie's Delicatessen, cucumber and watermelon aguas frescas from Backboard Burritos, fish-and-chips from Sam's Chowder House, and a mini basketball souvenir bowl with an ice cream cone from Room for Dessert. Five cash-to-card kiosks let you convert bills into a prepaid debit card if you prefer not to carry plastic.
