Williamsburg Bridge at Sunset, Then Happy Hour Oysters on Broome

Walk the Williamsburg Bridge from Brooklyn into a November sunset, then five minutes to a candlelit wine bar for oyster happy hour.

Start 45 minutes before sunset.

🗺️ Bedford Avenue to Broome Street

🌇 Walk the bridge into the sunset

Take the J or M to Marcy Av and walk about seven minutes to the pedestrian entrance on Bedford Avenue between South 5th and South 6th Streets, separate from the bike ramp. In November the sun sets between about 4:29 and 4:52 PM, ahead and to your left toward lower Manhattan, so start about 45 minutes before sunset. That leaves room for photos on the 1.4-mile crossing, which takes about 30 minutes without stopping. Trains rumble past beside you and the wind is sharp, so pack gloves.

🦪 Five minutes to happy hour on Broome

The walkway lands at Clinton and Delancey Streets, and The Ten Bells sits about 360 meters west at 247 Broome Street, a five-minute walk. Doors open at 5 PM on weekdays and 3 PM on weekends, and happy hour runs every day until 7 PM. The bar's contact page lists $1 oysters, $8 glasses and $22 carafes for that window, while an older menu page still says $1.50 oysters, so check the board at the door. Inside it is candlelight, a tin ceiling and chalkboards of natural wine, a warm switch after the cold bridge.

⏱️ Your November timeline

A weekday in mid-November runs like this. Sunset falls around 4:40 PM, so step onto the bridge near 3:55, linger mid-span for the last color, and come down at Delancey around 5 PM, just as the doors open. On weekends the bar opens at 3 PM, so there is no wait. The room is small and fills after 6 PM, so aim to sit down before 6 or book a table on Resy, and you still have an hour of happy hour left.
