Where Roots And Twang Play A Ballard Stage
Americana, country, and roots acts play a standing-room stage at this Ballard Avenue music hall in Seattle.
🎻 The roots stage
Tractor Tavern is a roots and Americana music hall on Ballard Avenue NW in Seattle, opened in 1994 and still booking country, bluegrass, and singer-songwriter bills most nights. The room runs long and narrow, with exposed brick, a wood bar along one wall, and string lights over a general-admission floor.
The stage anchors the far end under stage lights, where a longhorn skull and a pair of horseshoes hang on the backdrop behind the amps. On a typical night an upright bass, pedal steel, and acoustic guitars crowd the boards, and the crowd stands within arm's reach of the players.
Tractor draws touring Americana acts alongside local country and folk players, and the bill changes night to night. The bar pours through the sets, and the sound skews warm and unfussy across the long brick room.
