🐢 Staten Island Trails and Turtles
Give your Staten Island afternoon a woodland detour at Blue Heron Nature Center. The center is open Saturday and Sunday from 12 PM to 4 PM, with interactive exhibits and live displays of turtles, fish, and walking sticks.
Outside, five trails offer views of Butterfly Pond and Spring Pond. Take the family along for a pond walk, then leave room for the small playground and open play area for young children. The center also has indoor restrooms, a practical stop before heading back out into the park.
