Try Bánh on Amsterdam Avenue.

🥢 An Inventive Neighborhood Menu

Bánh puts Vietnamese street food and inventive plates on the same menu at 942 Amsterdam Ave in Manhattan. This narrow neighborhood spot serves hearty homemade fare, with a signature that takes a different direction from dessert. Try the Bánh Tiêu savory stuffed donut, paired with savory sausage, grilled pork chop, quail egg, and sticky rice.

On the menu, Chả Giò is priced at 13.95 dollars and Bún Gà Chiên at 17.95 dollars, with sandwiches and pho among the other dishes. Co owners Nhu Ton and John Nguyen started the restaurant with head chef Carlos Cabeza.

Plan around the split weekend service. Bánh opens Tuesday through Thursday from 6 PM to 10 PM, Friday and Saturday from noon to 4 PM and 6 PM to 10 PM, and Sunday from noon to 4 PM and 6 PM to 9 PM, with Monday closed.
