Victoria Manalo Draves Park
4.2 (571)park
4.2 (571)A lively SOMA park honoring the pioneering Olympic diver, with sports courts, leafy tree cover, and a community garden.
Description
A busy neighborhood gathering spot, the grounds pack a baseball diamond and batting cage alongside an outdoor basketball court, an open lawn, and a playground with picnic tables. The space commemorates SOMA-raised Filipina American diver Victoria Manalo Draves, the first American woman to win two Olympic gold medals in diving. Amid the steady recreation, tucked-away flower beds and green corners create an environment that feels easy to get lost in despite its compact scale.
