Troye Sivan's Fragrance Pop-Up Pours Coffee, Then Wine, in Nolita
TSU LANGE YOR turns Tashca into a scent café from 10 AM to 3 PM and a Portuguese wine bar from 6 PM. Coffee and retail run through Oct 31; the bar through Oct 30.
☕ Two Shifts, One Address
Tashca is a Portuguese tavern that opens to the public only on Thursday and Friday, from 5:30 PM, and spends Saturday to Wednesday on private dinners. From Oct 22 to Oct 31 it stays open every day for the first time: ten days, two shifts.
The 10 AM to 3 PM shift is retail and coffee. The front of the room becomes a TSU LANGE YOR scent café serving Sage's Rose lattes, cold brew, Portuguese doughnuts and Black Forest lamingtons, with the full collection of fragrances and objects out to test on skin. Staff run free layering consultations, so one bottle gets tried against another before it goes home.
At 6 PM the wine bar takes the room: Portuguese wine, petiscos de Lisboa and Australian small plates. The regular dinner menu of steak frites, piri piri prawns and fish and chips appears on Thursdays and Fridays only. The Sage's Rose Vesper, a vodka cocktail with gin, fresh rose petals and sage syrup, arrives with a 2 ml vial of the fragrance. Purchases over $200 bring a TSU LANGE YOR tote while stock lasts, and the Sage's Rose candle launches Oct 27, previewed here before the wider release.
The gap between the shifts is three hours, and their last days differ: coffee and retail run through Oct 31, the wine bar through Oct 30. Sivan co-founded the brand with his brother, Steele Mellet, and no appearance by him at the pop-up has been announced, by the brand or by Tashca.
Nolita afterwards runs late: Tacombi at Fonda Nolita until 10 PM, Gelateria Gentile until midnight, Nolita Pizza until 1 AM, Milk Bar until 11 PM. Pop's Bagels, open 7:30 AM to 2 PM, belongs to the daytime stop.
