🎃 Friday's Screening

🎬 What's Playing

Entry to this screening now runs only through a rush line, with regular tickets gone. Brooklyn Horror Film Festival runs October 15 through 22 at Nitehawk Cinema in Williamsburg, and on Friday, October 16, it brings Trick 'r Treat back to a big screen. Michael Dougherty's 2007 Halloween anthology follows four stories in one small town on October 31, tied together by Sam, a small trick or treater in a burlap sack mask. The festival is showing a 35mm print at 9:15 PM in Screen 1, opened by Season's Greetings, the 1996 animated short that first sketched out Sam.

🎤 Q&A and a Signing

After the film, Dougherty takes questions from the audience, and the night is scheduled to wrap up around 11:15 PM. The festival also lists a separate signing that evening from 7:30 PM to 8:30 PM, where he and the horror bookstore Twisted Spine sign the Trick 'r Treat graphic novel in the MUBI Lounge at Lo-Res, inside the Nitehawk building. Entry takes a free ticket from the festival box office, capped at 99 spots, and books are sold on site.

🎟️ Getting In

Regular tickets for the screening are effectively gone, and the festival is relying on a rush line at the venue for any seats that open up. A spot in that line does not guarantee entry. Nitehawk Cinema Williamsburg sits at 136 Metropolitan Avenue, about a ten minute walk from the Bedford Avenue L station. Arrive with a backup plan for the night, and check the festival page before heading out for any change to the rush line.
