Three Flatiron Stops From Plates to Jazz
Three rooms for a weeknight that starts with small plates and ends at a stage: ABC Cocina, Dear Irving, The Flatiron Room.
🗺 Three Stops After the Office
🌮 ABC Cocina, Plates First
The Latin room at 38 East 19th is the right first stop: sharing plates, fresh salsas and a vegan and vegetarian selection, with individual entrees if the table is hungrier than it looks. Drinks are priced high, so order the plates first and keep the opening round short. It opens at noon Wednesday to Friday, and at four on Monday and Tuesday.

🍸 Dear Irving, the Parlor
A moody parlor behind an easily missed entrance on Irving Place, with dim lights, plush seating and tabletop buzzers that keep the service quiet. Cocktails run to seasonal specials and the small plates stay simple: olives, cheese boards, Croque Mr. Irvings. It suits a conversation, not a group, and it stays open past midnight every night.

🎷 The Flatiron Room, the Stage
A candlelit lounge running nightly live jazz and more than a thousand bottled spirits, from sultry blues to smooth jazz on the velvet-curtained stage. Sit at the bar to talk through unfamiliar Scotch and bourbon. Friday and Saturday run to one in the morning, the other five nights to midnight.
