This Sylmar Museum Keeps Over 130 Classic Cars Running
Explore a 1937 steam locomotive and a luxury private railcar beyond the automobile collection.
🚂 Beyond the Motorcar
The Nethercutt Museum puts more than 130 running classic cars on display at 15151 Bledsoe St in Sylmar. The vehicles are regularly driven on the street, giving this collection a connection to the road beyond its display spaces. Start with the automobiles, then turn to the mechanical musical instruments and organs for a different sort of engineering.
Antique furniture, racing photographs and period accessories extend the collection into the world around those vehicles. Outside, you can walk around a restored 1937 steam locomotive and tour a luxury private railcar, taking the outing from the road to the rails.
The museum opens Thursday through Saturday from 9 AM to half past four PM, closing Sunday through Wednesday. Self guided admission to the Museum building costs five dollars per person, and cash is not accepted. Guided tours of the Collection building cost 20 dollars per person and require advance reservations.
