The Real Winnie-the-Pooh Toys Live in a Fifth Avenue Library
Walk past the lions out front and a free gallery shows the original Pooh toys beside a Gutenberg Bible.
🧸 Pooh Is Hiding in Plain Sight
Most people stop for a photo with the lions at Fifth Avenue and 42nd Street, then keep walking. Head through the doors instead. The Treasures exhibition is free to wander, and the original Winnie-the-Pooh stuffed animals are on display alongside a Gutenberg Bible, an early print of the Declaration of Independence, Ottoman illuminated manuscripts and Burmese palm-leaf texts. Take the cases slowly, then join a docent-led tour for the building itself. The easy after-work window is Tuesday or Wednesday, when the doors stay open until 8:00 PM. On Sunday, the building opens at 1:00 PM.
