Thierry Despont’s redesign fills the room with Central Park–inspired greenery, trellis detailing, and cane-accented furnishings. Operating for over 115 years, the space is defined by an afternoon tea ritual featuring warm, buttery scones, delicate finger sandwiches, and pastries paired with an extensive tea list. After 6 PM, service shifts to cocktail pairings and evening appetizers beneath pink-lit stained glass. While guests note the setting makes it more about the overall experience than just the food, the presentation and welcoming hospitality sustain its enduring reputation.
