The Only Stadium to Host Two Summer Olympics
Stand under the peristyle torch at a 1923 Exposition Park stadium that still fills for USC football and big events.
🔥 A Century Under the Torch
The Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum opened in Exposition Park in 1923 as a memorial to World War I veterans, and its peristyle arches and Olympic cauldron have anchored the skyline ever since. It hosted the Summer Games in 1932 and 1984, and the torch still lights for big nights.
USC Trojans football fills the bowl each fall, and the stadium has held everything from NFL games to NASCAR races built on the field. When the cauldron flares at dusk, the whole bowl seems to lean toward the flame at once. Reviewers rate it 4.5 across more than ten thousand visits. It sits in Exposition Park beside the science and history museums, an easy stop off the Expo Line.
