Targy's Tavern
4.5 (278)bar
A laid-back Queen Anne institution since 1937, anchored by a classic U-shaped bar and plenty of neighborhood lore.
Description

Tucked off the beaten track in Upper Queen Anne, the tavern occupies a 1902 building originally raised as sleeping quarters for horse-drawn trolley workers, framed with timber cut right on the hill. Its name nods to Targelson, a Seattle dockworker known to his crew as Targy, who helped start its run shortly after Prohibition.
Inside, the classic dive rhythm leans heavily into casual tavern pursuits: patrons drift between pool, darts, shuffleboard, and a Pac-Man arcade table, framed by big screens and a jukebox. Regular routines keep the floor social, anchored by Tuesday bingo and Wednesday trivia nights alongside straightforward fried bar fare.
