Description

What started with Sybil Bernard-Kerrutt, a Guyanese immigrant hairdresser baking bread for friends, grew into a Richmond Hill institution. After opening her first bakery in Jamaica in 1976, she established this flagship storefront, easily spotted by its yellow and turquoise triangular facade on Liberty Avenue. While the counter is famous for its savory roti, the kitchen also specializes in traditional Guyanese sweets like baked pine tarts, drawing steady crowds that line up even on weekday afternoons.
