Swan Boats And Lotus Beds Below The Downtown Skyline
Rent a swan pedal boat, drift past summer lotus beds, and watch downtown Los Angeles rise over Echo Park Lake.

Echo Park Lake is a restored city lake in the Echo Park neighborhood just northwest of downtown Los Angeles, ringed by a paved loop and tall fan palms. Its summer signature is the American lotus bed at the north end, one of the largest cultivated stands in the country, flowering from roughly June through August.
White swan pedal boats launch from the lakeside boathouse, and the classic loop rounds the central fountain toward the downtown skyline before curving back along the lotus. The Art Deco Lady of the Lake statue stands near the northern walk, while ducks and coots gather in the shallows.
The lake reopened in 2013 after a two-year rehabilitation, and entry to the park stays free. Boat rentals run mainly on warm afternoons and weekends, when the loop fills with walkers, joggers, and picnic blankets.
